Rose­wood Sanya, sched­uled to open in the sec­ond quar­ter of 2017 as the first Rose­wood Ho­tels and Re­sorts brand re­sort in China, was re­cently named “Most Ex­pected Ho­tel in China” by Voy­age mag­a­zine at an awards cer­e­mony held on Dec 10. Un­der the aegis of Lit­er­ary Es­capes, a pro­gram launched by Sof­i­tel to in­vite writ­ers to pub­lish short sto­ries in­spired by their stays in Sof­i­tel ho­tels, the Best For­eign Book Prize was awarded re­cently to He­len Macdon­ald for H is for Hawk in the novel cat­e­gory. Sa­mar Yazbek won in the es­say cat­e­gory for her piece, The Cross­ing: My Jour­ney to the Shat­tered Heart of Syria.
