St. Peters­burg air­port earns ‘Wel­come Chi­nese’ cer­ti­fi­ca­tion

St. Peters­burg Pulkovo Air­port has re­ceived a Wel­come Chi­nese Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion of the Chi­nese Academy of Tourism, tes­ti­fy­ing to the high qual­ity of ser­vices pro­vided to Chi­nese tourists. The air­port press ser­vice said on Thurs­day that, due to a sharp in­crease in flights between des­ti­na­tions in China and St. Peters­burg, Pulkovo Air­port has ac­tively im­proved the in­fra­struc­ture and ser­vices to meet the need of Chi­nese pas­sen­gers.

Flights in­for­ma­tion, air­port an­nounce­ments, ter­mi­nal maps and air­port web­site and restau­rants’ menus are us­ing Chi­nese, and air­port out­lets ac­cept UnionPay cards.

Evgeny Ilyin, Chief Com­mer­cial Of­fi­cer of NCG Com­pany (the main op­er­a­tor of Pulkovo) says that di­rect pas­sen­ger flights between Pulkovo and var­i­ous des­ti­na­tions in China have in­creased by 85 per­cent to 166,000 peo­ple dur­ing the first 11 months of 2016.

Pulkovo Air­port of­fers di­rect flights between St. Peters­burg and Bei­jing, Urumqi, and Shang­hai.
