Xi, Li send con­do­lences

Pres­i­dent Xi Jin­ping sent a mes­sage of con­do­lence to Rus­sian Pres­i­dent Vladimir Putin on Mon­day over the crash of a Rus­sian military plane.

“I was shocked to learn that a military plane of your coun­try crashed in wa­ters near Sochi on Sun­day, which has re­sulted in the un­for­tu­nate death of pas­sen­gers and crew mem­bers,” Xi said in his mes­sage.

On be­half of Chi­nese gov­ern­ment and peo­ple, Xi ex­pressed deep sym­pa­thy over the ac­ci­dent and ex­tended his sin­cere con­do­lences to the fam­i­lies and loved ones of the vic­tims.

Premier Li Ke­qiang also sent a con­do­lence mes­sage on Mon­day to his Rus­sian coun­ter­part Dmitry Medvedev to ex­press deep con­do­lence to the vic­tims.
