Thou­sands have no power af­ter storm

Hun­dreds of thou­sands of South Aus­tralians went with­out power on Wed­nes­day af­ter a se­vere storm hit the state overnight, caus­ing dam­age to cars, prop­er­ties, cell­phone tow­ers and traf­fic ser­vices. More than 120,000 homes re­main with­out power, 45 cell phone tow­ers are be­lieved to be not work­ing and 4,500 cus­tomers are with­out in­ter­net af­ter a storm cell ripped through north­ern parts of the state overnight, top­pling trees and caus­ing ex­ten­sive prop­erty dam­age.
