Eight giant panda cubs posed for Lunar New Year photos on Wednesday at a breeding base in Sichuan province. The eight cubs, including three twin pairs, were all born last year. At the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center, they walked, climbed up trees and played with toys in the presence of their keepers. Last year, 27 cubs were born at the center and 22 of them survived. Zhang Yanli, 41, is a resident of Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang autonomous region. She lost her hands in an accident three years ago. To support her family, Zhang set up a stall on the street selling scarves and gloves. Last Sunday, a group of donors visited Zhang and her son to give them train tickets to Zhang’s hometown in Henan province. Visit our website to read her story.
