Lamp­post falls on mov­ing ve­hi­cle

A car was se­ri­ously dam­aged af­ter a lamp­post fell on top of it on June 20. The lamp­post, which was near a con­struc­tion site, had been hit sev­eral min­utes ear­lier by a ce­ment tanker. The car’s driver said he had seen the ear­lier ac­ci­dent, but de­cided to carry on re­gard­less be­cause sev­eral ve­hi­cles in front of him passed the scene safely.

C H O N G Q I N G M O R N I N G P O ST A 7-year-old girl in Fuzhou whose head got stuck be­tween two rail­ings on a bus on June 24 had to be res­cued by fire­fight­ers us­ing hy­draulic cut­ters. The girl’s head be­came stuck af­ter the bus driver braked sud­denly while driv­ing through the city’s Ji­nan dis­trict at about 6 pm. It took the fire­fight­ers less than three min­utes to free the girl.
