Former leg­is­la­tor pros­e­cuted for graft

Wang Min, a former se­nior leg­is­la­tor, was re­cently pros­e­cuted by the Luoyang peo­ple’s procu­ra­torate. Pros­e­cu­tors found that Wang, who worked as Party chief of Jilin and Liaon­ing prov­inces, ac­cepted huge amounts of bribes, em­bez­zled pub­lic funds and caused great losses to the coun­try and peo­ple for his dere­lic­tion of duty, ac­cord­ing to the Supreme Peo­ple’s Procu­ra­torate. Wang was vice-chair­man of the Ed­u­ca­tion, Science, Cul­ture and Pub­lic Health Com­mit­tee of the 12th Na­tional Peo­ple’s Congress when he was put un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion in March last year.
