Se­nior po­lit­i­cal ad­viser dis­missed

Liu Shan­qiao, vicechair­man of the Hubei Com­mit­tee of the Chi­nese Peo­ple’s Po­lit­i­cal Con­sul­ta­tive Con­fer­ence, has been dis­missed for se­vere dis­ci­plinary vi­o­la­tions, ac­cord­ing to the Or­ga­ni­za­tion Depart­ment of the Com­mu­nist Party of China Cen­tral Com­mit­tee. Liu, 60, a na­tive of Suizhou, was elected to his cur­rent po­si­tion in 2013. He was placed un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the Cen­tral Com­mis­sion for Dis­ci­pline In­spec­tion, the coun­try’s top anti-graft watch­dog, in June. Liu worked as mayor and Party chief in sev­eral cities in the prov­ince from 1994 to 2012.
