Senior political adviser dismissed
Liu Shanqiao, vicechairman of the Hubei Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, has been dismissed for severe disciplinary violations, according to the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Liu, 60, a native of Suizhou, was elected to his current position in 2013. He was placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the country’s top anti-graft watchdog, in June. Liu worked as mayor and Party chief in several cities in the province from 1994 to 2012.
