Re­lief boxes sent with quilts, rice

A to­tal of 2,000 boxes con­tain­ing daily ne­ces­si­ties were do­nated by the Chi­nese Red Cross Foun­da­tion in early July. The boxes went to flood vic­tims in Guangxi Zhuang au­ton­o­mous re­gion. Goods in­cluded cot­ton quilts, tow­els, rice and cook­ing oil. They were sent, to help meet ba­sic liv­ing de­mands dur­ing the first week after the dis­as­ter. Since 2012, the foun­da­tion has do­nated more than 90,000 boxes worth up to about 25 mil­lion yuan ($3.67 mil­lion), serv­ing about 400,000 cit­i­zens af­fected by nat­u­ral dis­as­ters.
