Relief boxes sent with quilts, rice
A total of 2,000 boxes containing daily necessities were donated by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation in early July. The boxes went to flood victims in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Goods included cotton quilts, towels, rice and cooking oil. They were sent, to help meet basic living demands during the first week after the disaster. Since 2012, the foundation has donated more than 90,000 boxes worth up to about 25 million yuan ($3.67 million), serving about 400,000 citizens affected by natural disasters.
