Marbury finds new club in Beijing

China Daily (Hong Kong) - - SPORTS -

Former NBA All-Star guard Stephon Marbury has reportedly signed a deal with the Chinese Basketball Association’s Beijing Enterprises — aka Beijing Fly Dragons — ending days of speculation about his future.

Picked fourth overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1996 NBA Draft, Marbury joined the Beijing Ducks in 2011 and averaged 21.4 points and 5.5 assists while leading the team to three CBA championships in 2012, 2014 and 2015. His contract was terminated two months ago because the two sides were in disagreement over his role in the upcoming season. Marbury, 40, was hoping to return to the floor, but the Ducks wanted him to be an assistant coach.
