Global chief sure na­tional pro­grams can be ex­panded

It may sound fan­ci­ful, but vol­ley­ball’s global gov­er­nors be­lieve the game can be­come China’s na­tional sport.

In­ter­na­tional Vol­ley­ball Fed­er­a­tion (FIVB) pres­i­dent Ary S. Graca and his del­e­ga­tion met with of­fi­cials from State Gen­eral Ad­min­is­tra­tion of Sport and the Chi­nese Vol­ley­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (CVA) in Bei­jing on Tues­day, with the Brazil­ian’s plans to pre­cip­i­tate a “Chi­nese vol­ley­ball boom” top­ping the agenda.

“Just think about sports all over the world,” Graca said dur­ing a roundtable with Chi­nese me­dia fol­low­ing the talks.

“The United States is the coun­try of bas­ket­ball and base­ball. Europe is all about foot­ball. And China will be vol­ley­ball. China will be the coun­try of vol­ley­ball all around the world.”
