Wild beast drops in on vil­lager

A vil­lager had an un­ex­pected guest one morn­ing when a wild takin (goat-an­te­lope) made a dra­matic en­trance af­ter it fell off a moun­tain in Xun­yang county on July 10. Vil­lager Hu De­gang heard a noise and found a hole in the roof shortly af­ter he got up at about 9 am. Hu con­tacted the A man spent decades try­ing to re­pay a small debt to an old friend. For more than 50 years, the man, in Le­shan, trav­eled to dozens of places in the prov­ince to pay back 20 yuan ($3) he owed the friend. Tong Yuguang, now in his 80s, bor­rowed the money from the friend when he ran out of money dur­ing a trip in 1959. Tong promised to pay back the money be­cause the sum was half of his friend’s monthly salary 58 years ago.
