Guang­dong firm hit with 45,000 yuan fine

The Shang­hai IP of­fice re­cently im­posed one of its big­gest fines in re­cent years to a com­pany for us­ing faked patent in­for­ma­tion. The of­fice found the Guang­dong­based com­pany dis­played three patent cer­tifi­cates in a show­room in Shang­hai, but none of them be­longs to the com­pany. There were an ad­di­tional two patent la­bels on the product pack­ages, but one of them had ex­pired and the other was not ap­proved. The of­fice con­fis­cated the com­pany’s il­le­gal in­come and fined it 45,000 yuan ($6,662).
