Gang posed as po­lice, pros­ti­tutes

A gang in Guangzhou, who im­per­son­ated po­lice of­fi­cers so that they could trick se­nior cit­i­zens into think­ing they were be­ing fined for vis­it­ing pros­ti­tutes, has been busted. Po­lice were alerted to the gang’s ac­tiv­i­ties af­ter a re­tiree, sur­named Chen, was de­frauded of 150,000 yuan ($22,230) ear­lier this year. Chen told po­lice he had met a mid­dle-aged woman while out shop­ping, who had in­vited him to her house.
