Jordan, Germany sign aid deals

Jordan and Germany signed on Monday several aid agreements to support several projects in the kingdom. The agreement on financial cooperation for projects of the German Development Bank (KfW) was signed between minister of Jordan’s Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury, and German Ambassador Birgitta Siefker-Eberle. The aid is worth 220 million euros ($258 million), including 139 million euros in grants, according to a statement by the German embassy. The funding will be used to carry out various new projects in the fields of water resource management, education, employment opportunities and energy efficiency, the statement said.
