French series set for China debut
The French-born Raid International Adventure Race Series has landed in China.
Unlike traditional triathlons, the 50-year-old race contains 27 km of mountain biking, five km of kayaking and 20 km of trail running.
The race, also known as Raid des Alize, originated in France in 1967 and has since attracted over 82 million participants from more than 50 countries.
Set for Sept 22-24 in Huangshan, Anhui province, the Chinese debut will feature a combination of western knight spirit and traditional Chinese culture, according to event organizers.
Teams of participants will traverse picturesque landscapes and stunning local cultural and historical sites.
