French se­ries set for China de­but

The French-born Raid In­ter­na­tional Ad­ven­ture Race Se­ries has landed in China.

Un­like tra­di­tional triathlons, the 50-year-old race con­tains 27 km of moun­tain bik­ing, five km of kayak­ing and 20 km of trail run­ning.

The race, also known as Raid des Al­ize, orig­i­nated in France in 1967 and has since at­tracted over 82 mil­lion par­tic­i­pants from more than 50 coun­tries.

Set for Sept 22-24 in Huang­shan, An­hui prov­ince, the Chi­nese de­but will fea­ture a com­bi­na­tion of western knight spirit and tra­di­tional Chi­nese cul­ture, ac­cord­ing to event or­ga­niz­ers.

Teams of par­tic­i­pants will tra­verse pic­turesque land­scapes and stun­ning lo­cal cultural and his­tor­i­cal sites.
