Roger that, as Fed confirms Canada

Grand Slam king Roger Federer will kick off his North American hardcourt campaign ahead of the US Open by competing in the Aug 6-13 Rogers Cup in Montreal.

“I’m happy to be coming back to Montreal, as I have not had the chance to play there for many years,” Federer said on Tuesday.

Federer, who won a record 19th major at Wimbledon last month, is seeking his third Rogers Cup title but first in Montreal, where he has not played since 2011 in an event that alternates between the Quebec City and Toronto, where the five-time US Open winner registered his previous victories in 2004 and 2006.
