China joins search for miss­ing US sailor

China’s De­fense Min­istry says a Chi­nese war­ship is as­sist­ing the United States Navy in its search for a sailor who is miss­ing and may have gone over­board dur­ing op­er­a­tions in the South China Sea. The min­istry said in a state­ment on Thurs­day that the Peo­ple’s Lib­er­a­tion Army Navy’s guided-mis­sile frigate is co­or­di­nat­ing with the US in the search for the sailor “in the spirit of hu­man­i­tar­i­an­ism”. re­ported a man over­board around 9 am on Tues­day. Mul­ti­ple searches were con­ducted but the sailor hasn’t been found. reached 82.7 bil­lion yuan ($12.3 bil­lion) in 2016, up 26.4 per­cent year-on-year, the Min­istry of Civil Af­fairs an­nounced on Thurs­day.
