China to com­pete in 4 more Olympic events

The Gen­eral Ad­min­is­tra­tion of Sport will hold a me­dia brief­ing in Bei­jing on Mon­day to in­tro­duce the four new com­pe­ti­tions in which China will par­tic­i­pate at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The coun­try will join the bi­cy­cle BMX freestyle dis­ci­pline (which was added to the ex­ist­ing BMX cat­e­gory) and par­tic­i­pate in three of the newly added Olympic sports — skate­board­ing, sports climb­ing and surf­ing. ex­pected to reach 435 mil­lion. In ad­di­tion, the total scale of sports-re­lated con­sumer spend­ing will reach a cu­mu­la­tive 1.5 tril­lion yuan ($223 bil­lion) by 2020.
