A list of the top 100 Chinese in­ter­na­tional trad­ing cities for 2016 was re­leased by the Gen­eral Ad­min­is­tra­tion of Cus­toms last month. The list looks at in­di­ca­tors, such as in­ter­na­tional trade com­pet­i­tive­ness, struc­tural ad­van­tages, ef­fi­ciency, de­vel­op­ment and po­ten­tial com­pet­i­tive­ness. Coastal cities in East China have more com­pet­i­tive ad­van­tages. Eight out of the top 10 cities in this sec­tor are from this area and the Pearl River Delta. More than 8.6 mil­lion tourists from home and abroad vis­ited the Ti­bet au­ton­o­mous re­gion in the first half of this year, up 25 per­cent year-on-year. Tourism rev­enue dur­ing the pe­riod reached 9.3 bil­lion yuan ($1.4 bil­lion). Ctrip, the coun­try’s largest on­line travel agency, is­sued a list of China’s top 10 sum­mer re­sorts, with Ti­bet ranked first. Tourism ex­perts fore­cast more tourists in the fol­low­ing months as the re­gion will cel­e­brate a se­ries of events.
