Peo­ple: Zhe­jiang doc­tor wins France’s top aca­demic honor

Zheng Shusen, China’s lead­ing or­gan trans­plant ex­pert and a mem­ber of the Chi­nese Academy of En­gi­neer­ing, has been in­ducted into France’s Na­tional Academy of Medicine. The suc­cess­ful elec­tion of Zheng, from the First Af­fil­i­ated Hos­pi­tal of Zhe­jiang Univer­sity in Hangzhou, Zhe­jiang prov­ince, means in­ter­na­tional recog­ni­tion of his achieve­ments in liver trans­plants. The Na­tional Academy of Medicine in France was founded in 1820, and its mem­bers have been awarded No­bel Prizes in medicine.
