A week de­voted to science and peace will be ob­served

The In­ter­na­tional Week of Science and Peace will be cel­e­brated across China start­ing on Mon­day to high­light the im­por­tant role of science in so­ci­ety and the need to en­gage the wider pub­lic in de­bates on emerg­ing sci­en­tific is­sues. This year’s theme cen­ters on build­ing “a com­mon home of se­cu­rity, sta­bil­ity and pros­per­ity”. man­u­fac­tur­ing sec­tor in China, the fair will at­tract ex­hibitors from 28 coun­tries and re­gions. Ex­hibits will cover an area of 280,000 square me­ters. With the theme “In­no­va­tion, Smart, Green”, the event aims to pro­mote six key strate­gic emerg­ing in­dus­tries men­tioned in the Made in China 2025 ini­tia­tive. The Hangzhou Marathon will get off the mark in the morn­ing on Sun­day in Hangzhou, Zhe­jiang prov­ince. Around 35,000 ath­letes will com­pete in the event’s full marathon (42.2 kilo­me­ters), half-marathon (21.1 km), mini marathon (7 km), cou­ple run (4.5 km) and fam­ily run (1.2 km). The event started in 1987.
