Swiss Confederation official to participate in dialogue
At the invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Ignazio Cassis, head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation and a member of the Federal Council, will visit China from Monday to Wednesday to participate in the first round of the ChinaSwitzerland Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa will pay a state visit to China from Monday to Friday at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mnangagwa became Zimbabwe’s second president in November, replacing Robert Mugabe, who resigned after 37 years as head of the country. China has established strong economic cooperation with Zimbabwe and is funding investment projects across the country. The Energy Storage International Conference and Expo will be held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from Monday to Wednesday. China is expected to raise its power-storage capacity tenfold to 14.5 gigawatts by 2020, according to the China Energy Storage Alliance, an industry body. Storage technologies include pumped-storage hydropower and lithium ion batteries. The government said in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) that it would seek breakthroughs in energy storage.
