Information technology expo gets underway
The China Information Technology Expo will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from Monday to Wednesday. Under the theme “Intelligent Era, Smart Life”, leading electronics and technology companies from home and abroad will gather at the event to showcase their latest products. The event will include a main forum on the digital economy, two high-level dialogues for entrepreneurs and economists, and five forums on sectors including artificial intelligence, smart television and smartphones. China’s operating fleet of Fuxing bullet trains will grow rapidly, as a new operating plan takes effect on Tuesday. According to China Railway Corp, the national railway operator, the new plan includes adjustments to routes, speeds and train numbers. With everything up and running, the total number of Fuxing (or “Rejuvenation”) trains running daily across the country will reach 114.5 pairs, linking 23 municipalities and provincial capitals. The Fuxing model is a new bullet train developed primarily using China’s railway standards and technologies, with a view toward improving the country’s environment and rail transport efficiency. The Jilin International Marathon in Jilin province will be open for registration starting on Tuesday, in preparation for the race on June 10. This year’s event offers 30,000 entries for runners in a 42-kilometer full marathon, 21-km half marathon, a health run and a family run.
