Po­lice have pun­ished a man who de­manded doc­tors at a Nan­ning hospi­tal pro­vide med­i­cal as­sis­tance to his pet dog on the morn­ing of Aug 27. Sur­veil­lance footage shows the man caus­ing a ruckus at the First Af­fil­i­ated Hospi­tal of Guangxi Uni­ver­sity of Chi­nese Medicine at about 4 am when doc­tors re­fused to treat the an­i­mal, which had mi­nor in­juries. The man, who had driven his dog to the hospi­tal, fought with doc­tors in the emer­gency depart­ment and threat­ened to kill them if his dog died due to their re­fusal to treat it. Po­lice took the man in cus­tody, and he was later placed in a de­ten­tion house for 10 days for dis­rupt­ing the op­er­a­tion of a hospi­tal. “in­tro­duc­ing” his sin­gle col­league, sur­named Zhuang, 23. Us­ing the ac­count, Cong posed as the woman and con­vinced Zhuang to send money to buy prop­erty and make in­vest­ments, which was chan­neled through third-party bank ac­count. When the woman re­fused to meet him in per­son, Zhuang re­al­ized he had been duped and called the po­lice.
