Ex-se­nior of­fi­cial tried for graft

Jing Chun­hua, a for­mer se­nior of­fi­cial in­He­bei prov­ince, stood trial in Changchun In­ter­me­di­ate Peo­ple’s Court on Thurs­day, ac­cused of ac­cept­ing bribes. Jing, for­mer sec­re­tary­gen­eral and mem­ber of the Stand­ing Com­mit­tee of the He­bei pro­vin­cial CPC com­mit­tee, was ac­cused of tak­ing ad­van­tage of var­i­ous posts from 2001 to 2013 to seek ben­e­fits for oth­ers. Per­son­ally, or through his wife, he ac­cepted bribes worth more than 60.5 mil­lion yuan ($9.1 mil­lion), ac­cord­ing to the in­dict­ment. A ver­dict will be an­nounced later.
