Xi’an res­i­dents us­ing hot rocks

Lean­ing and rest­ing on hot stones has be­come a pop­u­lar treat­ment to cure ill­nesses in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.

On late af­ter­noons and early evenings, a group of women, all over the age of 50, go to City Wall Park and lie down on their backs or stom­achs on four stones that have be­come hot in the af­ter­noon heat.

The women be­lieve that this activity can cure col­drelated
