33 detained for smuggling

Thirty-three people suspected of smuggling high-end dental equipment were detained in Shenzhen on Monday, according to a report by Hong Kong-based Takungpao.com. The money involved in the case allegedly reached 160 million yuan ($24.1 million), the report said. The operation was launched in nine municipalities and provinces, including Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin, the report said.
