Ire­land’s rents top 2008 peak

Ire­land’s rents are now higher than their 2008 peak, ac­cord­ing to a re­port from a lo­cal prop­erty web­site on Tues­day. The re­port from daft.ie said the av­er­age rent na­tion­wide has risen by 39.7 per­cent since bot­tom­ing out in late 2011 and has for the first time ex­ceeded its 2008 peak by 0.8 per­cent. From 1997 to 2007, Ire­land ex­pe­ri­enced a prop­erty bub­ble.
