Director of the University of Sheffield’s Political Economy Research Institute

China Daily (USA) - - G20 2016 CHINA -

China’s helpful reiteration at this G20 Sum-mit of the case for openness in the management of the global economy needs to be balanced by an equally firm commitment to an inclusive global order. Excessive openness is as mucho f a threat as excessive closure for the global economy. Abetter balance between openness and inclusiveness needs to be struck over the next fewyears and more states and peoples need to be reassured that they can cope with and benefit from a broadly open global order.
