Viet­nam bank cus­tomers to grow

Viet­nam has just set a tar­get that some 70 per­cent of its adults will have bank cur­rent ac­counts by 2020, ac­cord­ing to a blue­print on im­prov­ing ac­cess to bank­ing ser­vices on Tues­day. Ac­cord­ingly, the coun­try will strive to open at least 20 branches or trans­ac­tion of­fices of com­mer­cial banks among ev­ery 100,000 adults, said the plan is­sued by Viet­namese PrimeMin­is­ter NguyenXuan Phuc. While around 35-40 per­cent of ru­ral adults are ex­pected to have sav­ings at credit in­sti­tu­tions, the plan also looks to have some 50 to 60 per­cent of small and medium-sized en­ter­prises ac­cess loans from these or­ga­ni­za­tions.
