Young people help as laundry volunteers

China Daily (USA) - - BUSINESS -

A youth group in Chongqing municipality has taken over the baton since 2012 from a longstanding “laundry volunteer team” which serves local communities by carrying out household tasks and delivering basic supplies. Zhou Jiping, 60, a role model in the region, first set up the laundry team in 1998. Zhou has received numerous awards in recognition of her selfless service to the community for over three decades. Nowadays, as Zhou begins to enter her senior years, around 400 young volunteers from various sectors have joined her, to extend their service and formed a new organization.
