Coal price up 12% in Septem­ber

China’s coal price index was 414.07 in Septem­ber, up 11.99 per­cent from Au­gust and 22.71 per­cent from a year ear­lier, the coun­try’s top eco­nomic plan­ner said on Tues­day. The index has been ris­ing since June for four con­sec­u­tive months, the Na­tional De­vel­op­ment and Re­form Com­mis­sion said. Re­gional data showed that coal prices in­He­bei, Chongqing and Shan­dong saw­faster month-on-month in­creases, with prices in north­ernHe­bei ris­ing 19.33 per­cent, south­ern He­bei 22.66 per­cent, Chongqing 19.64 per­cent and Shan­dong 17.76 per­cent. District will ex­plore es­tab­lish­ing com­mu­nity banks which are de­voted to small and medium-sized tech firms, clus­ter de­vel­op­ment of early-stage startup in­vest­ment funds— and in­ter­na­tional in­no­va­tion ac­qui­si­tion funds via co­op­er­a­tion with for­eign in­vestors, said district head Xie Jian­gang. He said the district would choose banks and fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions to pi­lot the in­te­gra­tion of equity and debt fi­nanc­ing ser­vices for cor­po­rate in­no­va­tion.
