Treasury bond futures closing lower

China’s treasury bond futures closed lower on Tuesday, with the contract for settlement in December 2016 closed 0.108 percent lower at 101.840 yuan ($15.04). TheMarch 2017 contract closed 0.143 percent lower at 101.460 yuan. The June 2017 contract closed 0.114 percent lower at 101.200 yuan. The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermi­ned price and set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
