Ex-firm ex­ec­u­tive tried over bribery

Wang Tianpu, for­mer gen­eral man­ager of Sinopec Group, stood trial at theNan­chang In­ter­me­di­ate Peo­ple’s Court on Tues­day for al­leged bribery and graft, Peo­ple’s Daily re­ported. Wang is charged with us­ing his po­si­tion to help other peo­ple’s busi­ness op­er­a­tions, while ac­cept­ing as­sets worth more than 33 mil­lion yuan ($4.8 mil­lion) be­tween 2003 and 2014 when he worked at sev­eral po­si­tions at the com­pany. A ver­dict will be an­nounced at a later date, ac­cord­ing to the court.
