Event to cel­e­brate Sun Yat-sen’s birth

An event com­mem­o­rat­ing the 150th birth­day of Sun Yat-sen, founder of the Kuom­intang party, will be held on Fri­day morn­ing, ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial state­ment onWed­nes­day. Pres­i­dent Xi Jin­ping, who is also gen­eral sec­re­tary of the Com­mu­nist Party of China Cen­tral Com­mit­tee and chair­man of the Cen­tralMil­i­tary Com­mis­sion, will de­liver a key­note speech at the event. Born in 1866 in Guang­dong province, Sun Yat-sen was a revered rev­o­lu­tion­ary leader who played a piv­otal role in over­throw­ing im­pe­rial rule in China. to Peo­ple’s Daily.
