‘New’ iPhone was in fact secondhand
A woman in Wenzhou who preordered a new iPhone 7 from the official Apple website on Sept 9 was surprised to find a stranger’s photos on the device when it arrived on Oct 27. The woman, surnamed Huang, found a total of 82 photos that had been taken between Sept 28 and Oct 17. When she contacted customer support, Huang was offered a new phone, but she refused as she wanted to know why she had been sent a secondhand device. Under Chinese consumer protection law, the website could be forced to send Huang three iPhone 7s as compensation.
