Vietnam sees opportunities

China Daily (USA) - - BUSINESS -

A pause or halt to the TransPacific Partnership trade deal signed by 12 countries in February, and covering 40 percent of the world’s economy, could offer an opportunity for Vietnamese agriculture, a leading economist said. All 12 nations need to ratify the deal, but US President-elect Donald Trump promised to abandon it. Economist Tran Hoang Ngan said a pause to the trade accord would provide an opportunity for the country’s sector to restructure.
