Cabi­net urges over­ca­pac­ity cut

Pre­mier Li Ke­qiang heard reports about the progress of cut­ting over­ca­pac­ity in the steel and coal in­dus­tries at the ex­ec­u­tive meet­ing of the State Coun­cil, the Cabi­net, on Nov 23. The meet­ing de­cided to send out in­ves­ti­ga­tion teams to tackle the il­le­gal or reg­u­la­tion-break­ing pro­duc­tion ac­tiv­i­ties of cer­tain en­ter­prises. The meet­ing also de­cided to can­cel a se­ries of vo­ca­tional qual­i­fi­ca­tion li­censes to make it eas­ier for peo­ple to get em­ploy­ment or start busi­nesses. The re­vised draft of the Law against Un­fair Com­pe­ti­tion was also passed at the meet­ing, which, com­pared with pre­vi­ous ver­sions, em­pha­sizes the ne­ces­sity of full su­per­vi­sion.
