Ama­zon goes on re­cruit­ment spree in China

Ama­zon.com Inc is ramp­ing up ef­forts in the Chi­nese mar­ket, hir­ing peo­ple to fill job va­can­cies rang­ing from soft­ware en­gi­neers and op­er­a­tion man­agers to con­tent edi­tors, in a move to ex­pand its pres­ence in the world’s largest e-com­merce mar­ket.

The num­ber of open­ings has reached about 400 on Ama­zon’s ca­reer web­site and more than 900 on LinkedIn, ac­cord­ing to a re­port from Bloomberg.

The US-based Ama­zon al­ready has a pres­ence in cross­bor­der e-com­merce, books, e-books, e-book read­ers such as Kin­dle de­vices, lo­gis­tics and web ser­vices in China.

Last month, it vowed to make full use of its global re­sources to boost in­no­va­tion in the Chi­nese mar­ket, con­tin­u­ously launch­ing prod­ucts and ser­vices to meet Chi­nese con­sumer de­mand.
