Legend Rudisha to run in London

Athletics Kenya (AK) confirmed on Thursday that Kenyan middle-distance superstar David Rudisha will defend his men’s 800m title at next month’s IAAF World Championships in London.

The announcement ended intense speculation in local media that the two-time Olympic and world-record holder over the distance would not make the final squad for the event.

“It is no-brainer. He is the world-record holder, world champion and a big-time performer at big championships. He has to be in the team,” AK vice-president Paul Mutwii told reporters in Nairobi.
