Employees from Renmin University of China (above) held a sports meet on Zhangzizhong Street in Beijing in 1980. The spirit was similar when more than 710 participatants from more than 61 companies (right) competed in a sports meet in Fuyang, Anhui province, on May 12, 2017.

Co-worker competitions have been popular in China for years, as they not only enrich people’s spare time but also help to enhance relationships among colleagues at the office. The events have developed from simple traditional sports events 20 years ago to some multifaceted meets with various events in recent years.
