Tal­iban at­tacks claim 22 lives

Dozens of po­lice and sol­diers have been killed in a wave of Tal­iban at­tacks on check­points in Kan­da­har prov­ince, of­fi­cials said on Tues­day, as in­sur­gents step up as­saults on the be­lea­guered se­cu­rity forces. Matiul­lah He­lal, act­ing pro­vin­cial po­lice spokesman, said 22 po­lice were killed and at least 15 oth­ers were wounded when in­sur­gents stormed var­i­ous se­cu­rity posts in two dis­tricts on Mon­day night. three-judge panel of the San Fran­cisco-based 9th US Cir­cuit Court of Ap­peals par­tially granted a Trump ad­min­is­tra­tion re­quest to block at least tem­po­rar­ily a judge’s rul­ing that had put the new ban on hold. Trump’s ban was an­nounced on Sept 24 and re­placed two pre­vi­ous ver­sions that had been im­peded by fed­eral courts.
