The long legs, necks and bills of the Asian open­bill clas­sify it as a mem­ber of what we call “wad­ing birds.” Some com­monly seen species of such birds in­clude cranes, storks, ibises and egrets. Peo­ple might mis­take one of th­ese birds for an­other but you can tell them apart by look­ing care­fully at their bills, heads and necks.
