Two Sessions:

Making Progress While Ensuring Stability

China's Foreign Trade (English) - - Special Report - By Lily Wang

Spring is always the best time of the year. During this season of hope and expectation, China’s “Two Sessions” National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was held as scheduled. The “Two Sessions” is an annual affair that sees more than 2,000 national political advisers offering proposals and insights for the government on policy direction for the coming year.

During the session, the central government reveals its annual work report, which includes the official gross domestic product (GDP) forecast as well as information on the defense budget and other major policies.

2017 is an important year for the implementation of the 13th “Five-year Plan” and supply-side structural reform. The new normal of today’s Chinese economy is facing huge challenges and also tremendous opportunities.

Overall, the policies and theme of this year’s lean towards a conservative, but stable growth for the Chinese economy and country. Now let us hear the voices from the following.
