The Belt and Road Forum on Commercial Legal Environment was held in Xi’an on May 11. This forum was hosted by the CCPIT and the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government.

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee Du Hangwei delivered a speech during the opening ceremony in which he noted that Shaanxi attaches great importance to the legal construction of commercial cooperation, and is devoted to building an international commercial dispute prevention mechanism and enriching international dispute settlement channels. He hopes that the forum can provide a more effective commercial legal system for the cooperation between countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

Vice Chairman of the CCPIT Lu Pengqi explained that the CCPIT is willing to strengthen their legal cooperation and resource sharing with industrial and commercial institutions, building a commercial legal service platform together, which is dedicated to providing enterprises with a full range of professional legal business services and to safeguard the rights and interests of enterprises.

The UK’S Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion at the Department for International Trade (DIT) Baroness Rona Fairhead said that her country will bring their advantages in the field of international trade, international law and international arbitration to actively participate in the construction of Belt and Road international commercial law, and will maintain an open and inclusive global trading system along with China.
