“For my last meal, I would have to go back to my roots and ask for my grand­mother’s yeast dumplings with duck leg con­fit and braised sauerkraut. This dish brings back so many (child­hood) mem­o­ries, and is ac­tu­ally how I fell in love with cook­ing in the first place. Since I can re­mem­ber, for ev­ery Christ­mas both my grand­mother and mother would cook this par­tic­u­lar dish cel­e­brat­ing the most mag­i­cal time of the year with loved ones around the ta­ble. Un­for­tu­nately, nowa­days I’m not able to go home for Christ­mas be­cause of work, but when I do make it home at least once a year, I al­ways ask my mum to cook this for me. This is a se­cret fam­ily recipe and will be passed onto me even­tu­ally, but for now only my mum knows how to make this.”
