PUBLIC INTEREST
Metro Manila has been burnishing its art- and science-oriented institutions as of late. Touted as a centerpiece for the cultural district of Bonifacio Global City, the BGC Arts Center ( bgcartscenter.org) takes in creative spaces and a standalone theater behind a striking geometric facade, as shown here. Over at Rizal Park, the National Planetarium recently merged its 1975 analog projection with a digital one to create some jawdropping full-dome shows. The nearby National Museum of Natural History will open later this year in a 1939 neoclassical building, with a “tree of life” spiraling up the central courtyard into a glass-and-steel canopy.
