If you’re a first-time London visitor, Gatwick is a convenient hub that negates the need for the complicated Tube map – the Gatwick Express train connects you to central London in just 30 minutes. And when I say ‘central’, I mean the epicentre of London.

When you get off at London Victoria station, all the Instagrammable London spots are close: the Apollo Victoria Theatre (for West End shows); Westminster Abbey (where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married); Buckingham Palace (spot those furryhatted soldiers who guard the Queen); and The Mall, the road that runs from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square. Plus, Sloane Square’s upmarket shopping is a stiletto-friendly walk away.
