Nepal: Deputy PM’s visit fosters deeper ties
Several agreements were signed between China and Nepal during Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Krishna Bahadur Mahara’s official visit to the country on September 6, according to the Nepalese Embassy in Beijing. The deputy prime minister’s six-day visit was at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He also met with Premier Li Keqiang and State Councilor Yang Jiechi. The Ministry of Energy of Nepal and the National Energy Administration of China initiated a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on energy cooperation while the Nepalese Embassy in Beijing and Zhongjingrun Tourism Investment Company signed an MOU to promote Nepal as a tourist destination in China.
